Bo (Soki Dai)

Mokuso: Bring left hand to right ear, make fist with right hand, at the same time turn body 45 degrees to right. Do gedan barai and turn body back to facing forward with eyes closed.

Soki Dai: Open eyes

Yoi: Bring left hand to right ear and do gedan barai with ibuki.

Ichi: Step back with right foot into hidari zen kutsu dachi. Raise bo to jodan uke (bo should be parallel to floor and perpendicular to forward direction) left hand palm up, right hand palm down.

Ni: Do not move feet and execute migi jodan uchi otoshi (overhead strike to head bo ending on your right side), maintain hidari zen kutsu dachi.

San: Pivot to the left 45 degrees on the balls of the feet into han kiba dachi. Bring bo to gedan level with right hand touching right hip.

Shi: Rotate bo counter clockwise with left wrist, ibuki and hold position.

Go: Okuri ashi with lunge thrust to head of opponent (morote jodan tsuki komi) return to ready. Right foot steps forward and crosses path of left foot, left foot then comes from behind to end in hidari zen kutsu dachi with lunge thrust to head of opponent (morote jodan tsuki komi) kia powerfully.

Rokku: Raise right foot high off the floor and step forward into migi zen kutsu dachi, at the same time raise bo for overhead strike to head (uchi otoshi), bo will be on left side. End count with upward strike (left to right) to head, left hand should be in front and right hand should be near right shoulder. Hold this position till next count.

Shichi: Right foot steps back to han kiba dachi (45 degree horse stance). Simultaneously left hand moves across body to belt level right side and right hand moves the bo in a wide overhead arc from right to left ending with tip of bo point to floor with left hand still in contact with bo.

Hachi: Hold position and move the left hand to the right ear and do hidari jodan shuto ouchi with ibuki very slowly. Bo is still held in right hand.

Ku: Right arm swings bo forward to jodan area striking the head as right foot steps forward and left foot steps back end with the bo in overhead position left hand forward and right hand to the back of the bo. You have just turned your body 180 degrees. Pick up right leg and stomp down as you execute jodan uchi otoshi. Bo should be on left side.

Ju: Shift to left facing han kiba dachi on the balls of the feet and drop forward tip of the bo to gedan level with right hand and move left hand so that it touches the left hip.

Ichi Ju: Hold position and with right wrist rotate bo clockwise with very slow ibuki.

Ni Ju: Okuri ashi with lunge thrust to head of opponent (morote jodan tsuki komi). Left foot crosses in front of right, then right foot comes from behind to end in migi zen kutsu dachi. Finish with lunge thrust to head of opponent (morote jodan tsuki komi).

San Ju: Left foot steps forward into hidari zen kutsu dachi simultaneously raising bo to overhead position. Strike down left to right (jodan uchi otoshi) immediately followed by upward strike to head right to left. Right hand should be in front and left hand near shoulder. Hold this position.

Yan Ju: Left foot steps back into han kiba dachi, simultaneously bring right hand down to left hip and with left hand swing bo in a wide overhead arc from left to right finish with forward tip of bo pointing down near the floor on your right side and be sure that right arm is still across body.

Go Ju: Slowly with right hand do shuto to opponent's face with ibuki.

Rokku Ju: Left arm swings the bo forward in an arc striking the opponent's head as the right foot pulls back and the left foot steps forward. As you pickup the left foot, raise the bo over your head, then stomp down with the left foot and do jodan uchi otoshi. Bo ends this count on your right side.

Nana Ju: Slide left leg back into ko kutsu dachi, move left hand down (just above belt level) and across the body to the front. Bring the right hand up to shoulder level. Left is lower and right hand is up (both hands should be in palm up position). Bo is 45 degrees to the floor and parallel to direction of movement.

Hachi Ju: Push top of Bo forward with right hand. hold bo with left hand and do a figure eight stepping forward with right foot  then left foot into hidari zen kutsu dachi with a lunge thrust to middle area (morote chudan tsuki komi). Bo returns to ready on the right side of your body.

Ku Ju: Step right foot forward (fumi ashi) into migi zen kutsu dachi, do overhead strike (uchi otoshi) with bo ending on left side of body immediately followed by lunge thrust to middle area (morote chudan tsuki komi).

20: Pull right leg back to right zen stance (migi ko kutsu dachi), pull left hand back near left shoulder and lower right hand across across body to just above belt level (both hands are now palms up and bo should be facing forward at a 45 degree angle to the floor.

21: Push top of Bo forward with left hand. hold bo with right hand and do a figure eight stepping forward with left foot then right  foot into migi zen kutsu dachi with a lunge thrust to middle area (morote chudan tsuki komi) on left side. Bo returns to ready on the left side of your body.

22: Step left foot forward (fumi ashi) into hidari zen kutsu dachi, do upward strike to head. You are now set up for moro ashi dachi with overhead strikes. 

23: Now slide left hand to end of bo and slide right hand to left until hands are approximately 12 to 18 inches apart. Raise right foot and stomp down striking down to opponent's head.

24.) Again do overhead strike with moro ashi dachi.

25.) Slide hand back to center position and slide right foot into right zen kutsu dachi with middle area lunge thrust (morote chudan tsuki komi).

26.) Left foot steps back to turn body 90 degrees to the left into right zen kutsu dachi, do upper block (morote jodan uke), do not change hold.

27.) Staying in zen stance parry opponent's bo to middle area, bo is now on left side, now do lunge thrust to middle area, no step!

28.) turn to the left 180 degrees by pulling the left foot back until you can set into right zen kutsu dachi, perform two hand upper block, do not change hand position, parry with your bo in downward direction (right to left), then step forward with left foot crossing in front of right foot, next right foot steps forward into right zen kutsu dachi followed by lunge thrust to middle area (morote chudan tsuki komi) return bo to ready on your left side.

29.) Pull right foot back in an arc turning the body 90 degrees to the right and behind into hidari zen kutsu dachi with bo striking upward from left to right. Step forward with right foot into migi zen kutsu dachi simultaneously striking down (tsuki komi) with bo  right to left, followed by lunge thrust to middle area of opponent (morote chudan tsuki komi). 

30.) Left foot crosses in front of right foot as bo strikes upward left to right. Step forward with right foot into migi zen kutsu dachi striking down with bo (right to left), follow with lunge thrust to middle area of opponent (morote chudan tsuki komi). Again left foot crosses in front of right foot as bo strikes upward left to right. Step forward with right foot into migi zen kutsu dachi striking down with bo (right to left), follow with lunge thrust to middle area of opponent (morote chudan tsuki komi).

31.) turn head to look over left shoulder, step backward (similar to kake ashi dachi) three times ending in hidari ashi mae kake ashi dachi, backward thrust to middle area (bo should be level with floor).

32.) Bring right foot even with left foot, turn body 180 degrees (left foot back right foot forward) into migi zen kutsu dachi, then do overhead strike (uchi otoshi) from right to left, bo ends up on the left side, last technique lunge thrust to middle area, kia powerfully and hold position.

Yamae: Bring left foot to right, swing bo overhead with right hand, feet end in msuba dachi, eyes remain open. Move right foot to heiko dachi, body turns hanmi pivoting on the balls of the feet, left hand is raised to right ear, left knee bends in to right, left hand executes gedan barai as body pivots on the balls of the feet back to heiko dachi.

Na o re: Transfer bo from right side to left side, stay in heiko dachi.
